Dr. Jeff Werber, DVM, California, Berkeley ’76, is an American veterinarian, veterinary medical journalist, and former host of the television series Lassie’s Pet Vet. He has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, Rachael Ray, and Fox & Friends.
Werber was a member of the California Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta when he was an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley. While studying zoology at Berkeley, Werber knew from a young age that he wanted to become a veterinarian. In high school, Werber volunteered at an animal hospital. After earning his BS, he attended the University of California, Davis, where he earned his veterinary degree.
In 1996, Werber expanded to television, working on an Animal Planet series called Petcetera. In 1997, Werber won an Emmy Award for his pet-related stories on CBS Morning News in Los Angeles. His Hollywood ties eventually led him to build a star-studded clientele; working with pets of celebrities like Britney Spears, Julia Roberts, Ben Affleck, Eddie Murphy, Paula Abdul, Rod Stewart, Mark Wahlberg, Patrick Dempsey, Mandy Moore, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ron Perlman, Lori Loughlin, Emmy Rossum, and Judy Greer.
