Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves has won this year’s Lou Gehrig Memorial Award, sponsored by Phi Delta Theta. The Fraternity presents the award annually to a Major League Baseball player who best exemplifies the giving character of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig. The award was first presented in 1955 and is permanently maintained at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
A team of representatives from Phi Delta Theta will present the award to Sale on Wednesday, June 4, prior to the Braves’ 7:15 p.m. game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Phi Delta Theta will also join the Live Like Lou Foundation and the Permobil Foundation on the field for a special presentation to an ALS family.
A ticket block has been reserved in Sections 145 and 149. Tickets are $48 each, and ADA seats are available for purchase. All tickets are sold at face value. This event is open to the public, so please invite your friends and family!
