JR Marshall – Carnegie Mellon

Pursuit of Greatness
JR Marshall – Carnegie Mellon

On April 1st, founding father and the first president of the Pennsylvania Rho Chapter at Carnegie Mellon University, JR Marshall, was ratified, along with running mate Jibby Ayo-Ani of Delta Gamma, as Student Body President by the Carnegie Mellon Student Senate.

Running on a platform of addressing mental health on campus, eradicating sexual assault and relationship violence, and improving student services with a tagline of “#13000strong” (the enrollment of Carnegie Mellon) Marshall, a Policy Analysis and Chinese double-major,  won the election with 37 percent of the vote and at the same time raised campus participation in the election by nearly 10 percent.

“Needless to say, my experience in being a founding father of the Pennsylvania Rho Chapter, serving as president throughout my freshman and sophomore year, securing our chapter house on the Greek Quad, earning a charter from Phi Delta Theta, and growing our membership to be one of the biggest on campus has been unparalleled. My time with Phi Delta Theta has molded me into the man I am now, a better son/friend/student, but now I consider myself completely prepared to lead 13,000 students here on campus. This would never be possible without Phi Delta Theta.”
