On March 6, 2019, Florida Iota’s Kyler Gray was elected as the University of Central Florida’s Student Body President. The University of Central Florida is the second largest university in the country and is predicted to become the largest university in the United States come Fall 2019. Brother Gray is a Public Administration major and will graduate in May 2020. Kyler ran on the campaign slogan “Ignite Our Future,” which embodies his goal to increase student engagement, break down barriers, and come up with innovative solutions to enhance the overall student life experience. He believes that servant leadership is the true key to success for a position of this magnitude, illustrated by his comment that “we don’t make empty promises, you can expect that we mean business.” As Student Body President, Kyler will also have the honor to serve as a Board of Trustees member and as a Director for the Florida Student Association.
Brother Gray joined Phi Delta Theta in Spring 2018. Within the chapter, he has served as Pledge Class President, Assistant Phikeia Educator, and was elected Vice President. Throughout his tenure at UCF, Kyler has had his hands on many projects and been involved with a variety of organizations. The majority of his involvements were within the Student Government Association and the Interfraternity Council (IFC). Kyler served as IFC VP of New Member Education, Director of Academic Affairs and Scholarship Chairman, and most recently as the Attorney General and Chief Legal Officer. Kyler is also a licensed substitute teacher, ordained minister, and an aspiring novelist. Brother Gray is proud member of Phi Delta Theta and plans to become an actively involved alumnus following graduation.
