State of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal recently appointed Honorable Lovett Bennett, Jr., Georgia Southern ’78, to fill the vacancy in the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit.

Bennett is the sole practitioner of Lovett Bennett, Jr., Attorney at Law, P.C., which has been servicing clients at his Downtown Statesboro law office since 1982. The law firm’s personal injury practice encompasses workplace injury (worker’s comp), dangerous product injuries, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injuries. In the area of Real Estate Law, the practice handles commercial real estate transactions as well as residential real estate transactions.

Brother Bennett has served as municipal court judge for the cities of Brooklet and Register. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University, served the Georgia Epsilon Chapter as treasurer, earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

As a criminal law attorney, Lovett Bennett, Jr. and his law team aim to bring value to clients and help them achieve their goals through results, achievement, and aggressive advocacy, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.

Bennett and his wife, Missy, have two children and reside in Statesboro. Dr. Missy Bennett, EdD served for 20 years as professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning for at Georgia Southern University in its College of Education.
