Nick Greto, Widener ’98, is the co-founder and co-president of Sounds of Saving (SoS). SoS is a nonprofit created to promote a connection to music of all genres and styles as a path to human relatedness, mental wellness, and a source of hope during times of crisis.
SoS aims to increase access to mental health resources, create original content and spread messages of hope, leverage a network of available support, and provide mental health resources at streaming and live events.
From the Sounds of Saving website:
“Sounds of Saving believes that authentic human connection lies at the core of confronting mental illness. While social media can be a valuable tool for connection and we use it to share our content, we also recognize that it can have harmful effects on mental health in a variety of ways.”
SoS has partnered with many organizations, including the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the Songs That Found Me at the Right Time video series. This partnership is entering its third year, and they plan to carry on with a more diverse relationship as the crisis call line shifts from the current ten-digit number to an easy-to-remember “988” in July of this year.
Nick has been in the startup space, advertising and marketing, and NYC music industries since 2006. Initially developing his skills in content creation, social, search, and programmatic media, he was recently part of cutting-edge teams that led the tech industry in AI decisioning and journey automation. Greto previously worked at Acuity Ads, where he restructured, rebuilt, and led the organization to its highest revenue quarters and years ever recorded. Additionally, he worked as an executive with Magnetic Media, where he was integral in closing the transaction that brought this technology into the hands of Deloitte Digital.
Nick currently resides in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, with his wife, Dana, and his two daughters, Oona and Marigold.
