Idaho Alpha (University of Idaho) Phis Ryan Sprta (left) and Alex Ling (right) were both recently selected to be pilots in the United States Air Force. Both men have been active members in the Fraternity while being leaders in the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Idaho.
Ryan and Alex are not only brothers in the Fraternity, but they are also pledge dad and pledge son (big and little). Sprta was selected for the competitive position in February of 2014 and Ling was selected in February 2015. Every year approximately 400 pilot slots are handed out between ROTC, Officer Training School and the Air Force Academy.
Sprta is expected to graduate and commission in May 2015 with a degree in Mathematics before starting undergraduate pilot training at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi. Ling, also a Math major, plans to graduate and commission in May of 2016.
Pledge dad Sprta and pledge son Ling are honored to get the opportunity serve their country, and the brothers at Idaho Alpha are very proud of the accomplishments each of these men have made.
