About Henry

Henry G. Heren IV, UNLV ’99, graduated from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1999, where he was inducted as a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. While at UNLV, brother Heren served as Nevada Beta’s pledge class president and big brother.

Henry is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the US Space Force and a Master Space Operator, having served in the US Air Force and Space Force for a combination of more than thirty years. He was awarded a Master of Military Operational Art and Science degree in 2012 from Air University. He has operational and planning experience in assignments focusing on Space, Cyberspace, and Electronic Warfare Operations. He served in North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa as well as the National Security Agency, Headquarters Air Force, a NATO accredited Centre of Excellence, and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff positions. He took part in Operation ODYSSEY DAWN and deployed in support of Operations NOBLE EAGLE and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Henry is a founding Editorial Board Member of the Space Force Journal, providing an independent forum focused on Spacepower and issues critical to American strategic leadership and dominance in space.

Brother Heren is currently a Space, Cyberspace, and Electronic Warfare Subject Matter Expert withLinQuest directly supporting research conducted by DARPA on behalf of the Department of Defense. He’s an established voice on space operations and planning, focusing on integration with joint and combined operations, cyberspace and electronic warfare, and space policy.

Henry participated in the McKenzie Family Presidents Leadership Conference (2023) and the Kleberg Emerging Leaders Institute (2017, 2022, and 2023). He served as the Chapter Advisor to the California Nu Chapter at California Polytechnic State University from 2002-2004 and the Maryland Beta chapter at McDaniel College from 2012-2014. He also served on the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) at Maryland Beta as the Phikeia Education Advisor (2018), the Risk Management Adviser (2021), and the CAB chairman of the Virginia Lambda Emerging at George Mason University from 2021-2023. Henry sponsored the Military Phi Challenge as part of Phi Delta Theta’s Day of Giving from 2018-2022 and the Nevada Beta Alumni Challenge in 2023.

Henry and his wife Karla have been married for over twenty years, and they have two daughters, Emma and Anna.
