Kenneth M. Jastrow, II served as Chairman and CEO of Temple-Inland Inc., an Austin- based Fortune 500 company with interests in paper, forest products, real estate and financial services, from 2000-2007. Jastrow worked at Temple-Inland for over 27 years. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer in 1998 and 1999, and Chief Financial Officer from November 1991 until 1998.

Jastrow serves as a Director of KB Home, MGIC Investment Corporation and Genesis Energy, LLC. He was formerly Non-Executive Chairman of Forestar Group, Inc. and Guaranty Financial Group. Jastrow is past Chairman of Texas Taxpayers Research Association and Texas Mortgage Bankers Association. In 2007, Jastrow was awarded the Mirabeau B. Lamar Medal by the Association of Texas Colleges and Universities. Jastrow was recognized by the National Director Institute as 2014 Public Company Director of the Year. In addition, he received the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association Distinguished Service Award, Boy Scouts of America (Midland, Texas) Distinguished Citizen Award, The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas Distinguished Service Award, and The Legion of Honor from Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

At The University of Texas, Jastrow served as Chairman of the Commission of 125 and UT’s $3 Billion Capital Campaign. Jastrow also served as Chair of the Development Board, McCombs School of Business Advisory Council, and Neighborhood Longhorns. He also founded UT’s Subiendo – Academy for Rising Leaders. In 2004, Jastrow was named a Distinguished Alumnus of The University of Texas, and he was inducted into the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame, 2003. In addition, Jastrow received a Presidential Citation in 2010 and was presented an Honorary “T” in 2008.

Jastrow earned his BBA in 1969 and MBA in 1971 from the University of Texas. Jastrow came to UT from Midland, Texas and is married to Susan Thomas Jastrow. Kenny and Susie have three children, all married: Marty and J. McCartt, Kenny and Kendal Jastrow, and Corby and Stephanie Jastrow, and eight grandchildren. The couple resides on a ranch outside Austin in the Hill Country of Texas.
