Mark B. Chandler, University of Georgia ’81, received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia. He later enrolled in the Master of Accounting Program at Georgia State University, where he completed courses to qualify for the CPA exam.
Brother Chandler’s professional journey began in 1981 at Trust Company Bank in Atlanta, GA, where he served as the Commercial Trainee/Operations Manager, laying the foundation for his expertise in commercial banking operations. In 1984, Mark became a Senior Auditor at Arthur Andersen & Company in Atlanta, GA. During this period, he accumulated extensive audit experience, specializing in banking and real estate, where he earned his CPA.
Mark left public accounting in 1988 to pursue a career in real estate specializing in property management of multi-family and commercial properties. He obtained his Georgia sales license and later his broker’s license. In 1993, Mark founded Habersham Properties, Inc., overseeing residential and commercial properties, their activities, reporting, and managing client relationships and corporate accounting.
Mark was also a founding organizer and director of Georgia Commerce Bank/IberiaBank/First Horizon Bank from 2003 to 2015, with continued advisory contributions on the Georgia Advisory Board since 2015.
Brother Chandler attended the 2016 General Convention, receiving the Legion of Merit award. He has served as Georgia Alpha’s Chapter Advisor since 1993 and is a member of their House Corp and has been since 1996.
He served the Northside United Methodist Church, where he contributed as a member of the finance committee from 1995 to 1997 and the Stewardship Committee from 1998 to 1999. He also was part of the Stephens Minister Program from 2000 to 2013 and has been the President and CEO at Bailey-Johnson Heights, a family investment company since 1997.
Mark is the Founder/CEO of the Five Thirty Foundation, created in 2006. His leadership extends to the CLC Foundation, where he served as CFO for twenty years. Mark has been on the board at Good Samaritan Health Center and the Wesley Woods Foundation since 2020. He has also been a Love Thy Neighbor board member since 2010.
He and his wife, Ann, have two grown children: a daughter, Marjorie Louise “Weezie,” and a son, Mark “Bryant” Jr. is a Phi Delt from the Alabama Beta chapter at Auburn.
