About Sean

Sean is the Fraternity’s fifth executive serving as Executive Vice President & CEO of Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and President of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation. In this capacity Sean provides strategic leadership to the enterprise and operations, guidance to the General Council and Board of Trustees, and serves as an ambassador to its chapters, members, and other constituents. He also manages the Fraternity’s litigation and alternative revenue activities.

A native of Philadelphia, Sean is a member of the Pennsylvania Mu Chapter and a graduate of Widener University. Brother Wagner holds a Master’s in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from Northern Kentucky University (NKU), a Certificate in Executive Management from the University of Notre Dame, and is a Certified Association Executive as credentialed by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

A leader in his community and industry, Sean is currently an executive committee board member for the Go Norse Fund that supports NKU athletics and its student-athletes, a member of Widener’s Alumni Council,  a member of the City of Oxford’s Historic and Architectural Preservation Commission, and serves on the Board of Directors for Enrichly Technologies, Inc. He is a former board president of the Inner City Tennis Project, a non-profit organization that teaches health and life lessons through the sport of tennis in Cincinnati. Sean formerly served as a member of the ASAE Membership Development Committee, chaired the Fraternity Executive Association’s Annual Meeting Planning Committee for alumni/engagement programming, and volunteered as a Chapter Advisory Board member for both the Pennsylvania Zeta (Penn) and Ohio Theta (Cincinnati) chapters. He is also a graduate of Leadership 21, West Chester and Liberty (OH) Alliance’s development program for regional leaders, and the Nonprofit Leadership Institute of Cincinnati’s EXCEL program.

Sean currently resides in Oxford with his wife, Michelle, and daughter Elise. Sean enjoys live music,  training for half marathons, coaching Elise’s basketball team, and is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to the “Trusting of the Process” of his hometown 76ers or believing that “Nobody” is the proper response to the question “Who Dey Think Gonna Beat Dem” Cincinnati Bengals.

What makes Phi Delta Theta great?

“When you join a Phi Delt chapter at your university you’re proud to be a Phi because of the brothers that recruited you into the chapter, what they represent and their reputation on campus. What most people don’t realize (at least right away) is why they should be proud to be a Phi beyond their campus. They, like the hundreds of thousands of other Phis before them, inherit an organization that has a strong reputation for bold leadership, innovative thinking and an experience that has truly made good men great. This experience allows men to exceed their individual potential and in turn enhance our great Fraternity.”
