On April 2, the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Student Government Association (SGA) concluded its elections. Later that afternoon, it was announced that Pennsylvania Lambda Phi Vincent J. Lopez was elected as the 2015-16 President. He and his running mate Tyron Snead, a new member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, will represent more than 14,000 students.
Brother Lopez is a sophomore at IUP double majoring in English and Political Science. He plans to attend law school following graduation in 2017 and aspires to run for elected office in the future. He has served on the SGA for the past year and currently holds the Public Relations office. Prior to being elected to the Senate, Vince was floor president of his Residence Hall Council in 2013 and was selected to attend Central Atlantic Affiliate of College & University Residence Halls (CAACURH) at Pennsylvania State University.
In the fall of 2014, Vince was a finalist in the selection process for student member of the Council of Trustees. He is also a member of the Middle States Committee, the committee charged with the duty of an institutional self-study for middle states reaccreditation.

Without the vote and voice of my fellow peers, none of this would be possible. The Presidency is one of the most vital offices on the IUP campus, and I’m calling on the new generation to rise to the challenge of standing-up, joining hands, and working together for the betterment of IUP and Indiana communities. I’m really excited to have the opportunity to interact with so many different student groups and organization. I joined Phi Delta Theta because it is a Fraternity of leaders and a tightly knit brotherhood! Phi Delta Theta has allowed me to grow and prosper as an individual.”
