Arika Weil joined the Live Like Lou staff team as the data and advancement coordinator in September 2022. In this part-time role, she coordinates donation processing, generates donor acknowledgments, and ensures the ongoing integrity and accuracy of our data and constituents, including Live Like Lou’s donors, friends, ALS families, and volunteers.
A graduate of Purdue University Fort Wayne, Arika previously held roles at Hear Indiana, working in database management and front-facing development. She supported the CEO in managing grants and sponsorships while coordinating Hear Indiana’s fundraising efforts.
Arika and her husband live in Indianapolis with their two sons. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with her family, crafting, trying new foods, and chasing her sons and three dogs around the house!
Why did you decide to work for Live Like Lou?
“Before finding Live Like Lou, I had little knowledge of ALS and the damage it causes in the lives it affects. After learning that the life expectancy following diagnosis is only two to five short years, I realized how crucial it is to spread awareness and create funding for finding a cure. It feels so fulfilling to be apart of an organization that directly impacts the lives of people living with ALS and their families, and I hope to see a day (very soon) where we find a cure!
