Jakob Gattinger has been a leader at the University of British Columbia (UBC) during his undergraduate years, culminating most recently in joining the UBC Board of Governors. In joining the Board of Governors, Jakob will be serving alongside appointees from British Columbia’s provincial government, as well as elected faculty members and staff in overseeing the University’s more than $2 billion budget, among other responsibilities.
In his four years at UBC, Brother Gattinger has had a variety of opportunities to build a better campus for the student body. Highlights of these opportunities include:
- Two-time student member of the University’s Senate
- Campus Tours Student Ambassador
- Executive of the Alma Mater Society, UBC’s student union as well as the Engineering Undergraduate Society
- Leader of a microbrewery initiative on campus
Jakob served as a Peer Mentor at the 2016 Kleberg Emerging Leaders Institute and also represented the British Columbia Alpha Chapter at the event the year prior.
