Jeff Conroy – Miami U.

“Do what you love and the rest comes naturally.” – Jeff Conroy

Jeff Conroy was promoted to President and Executive Producer of Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company, in November, 2012. He joined the Original Productions team in 2001, was promoted to Vice President, Programming in 2007, and Executive Vice President, Programming in 2011.

Conroy is Executive Producer on the multi Emmy® Award-winning Deadliest Catch.  To date, the series has been honored with ten Primetime Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Reality Program in 2011. Also in 2011, accolades from the Producers Guild of America (PGA) were received with the Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television Award.  The ninth season of OP fan favorite Deadliest Catch premiered in April, 2013, with a 28% increase in audience from the previous season. Early in his tenure at Original Productions, Conroy played a leading role in developing Monster Garage, a five season staple on Discovery, serving as Supervising Producer. It is Conroy’s belief that Monster Garage and Deadliest Catch were the series that helped Original Productions refine its authentic storytelling ability. He is passionate about his behind the scenes mission of feeding a bigger vision, from guiding camera operators, producers, and show runners to presenting the most compelling true story. Among Conroy’s development and production projects are three of the highest rated series on History: Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men and The Legend of Shelby The Swamp Man. He has also guided multiple seasons of Storage Wars, and Storage Wars: Texas, huge ratings hits for A&E; Bering Sea Gold for Discovery, and Black Gold for truTV.

Starting as a production assistant, Conroy soon earned a spot as Segment Producer for the TLC show How’d They Do That? A number of freelance writing and producing jobs followed including a stretch with History’s pivotal series Modern Marvels.

Conroy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Theater from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he is an alumni guest lecturer and a member of the Advisory Board to the Communications Department. Conroy is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS).

Born in San Diego, Conroy grew up in New Orleans, Colorado and Virginia.

Conroy is married with three children. They have a guinea pig, three fish, and a dog that followed his kids home one day.

Loves to surf. And any sport or hobbies his kids are in to.
