Jm DeGaetano, Shippensburg, ‘99 is a best-selling author dedicated to teaching financial literacy to people of all ages. He published two books in 2020: Amazon bestseller Larry The Bunny Saves His Money, a first of its kind children’s book created to teach children at a young age the value of saving, and The Fruitful Retirement, an interactive retirement guide.
When he’s not writing, DeGaetano is the president and founder of Diamond Wealth Advisors, a registered investment advisory firm that provides emotional and financial clarity for clients during their transition into and during retirement. Jim is a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Financial Services Institute, and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. Jim graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Widener University with a Master of Business Administration degree. He holds Series 7, 63 with LPL Financial and 66 security licenses, plus state life and health insurance licenses.
Jim is a past president of the Rotary Club of Carlisle. He also volunteers with Junior Achievement, is on the advisory board for Shippensburg University’s College of Business and is a member of the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce.
Jim lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with his wife and two children. He is a member of St. Patrick’s Church. He loves the community in which he grew up, enjoys the four seasons, sports, spending time with his family and friends. His kids have given their seal of approval to his new children’s book that teaches kids how to save.
