Ever ride in a Blue Bird school bus? Mark Benfield (Mercer ’12) started working for the Blue Bird Corporation as an intern while in college. At 23, Brother Benfield is the first and only Economist and Special Studies analyst for the entire company.
In his first two professional years at Blue Bird, Mark has conducted a country-wide analysis of the aggregate school bus market that has developed into an industry model which projects US industry volumes through 2018. Mark has lead a number of exploratory market studies for potential business opportunities as well as a historical review of Blue Bird financial information that evaluated the correlation between stable management to financial strength.
Mark also works directly with members of the Blue Bird executive leadership to identify sales and pricing scenarios for the company to reach its revenue goals, as well analyzing company data to be used in total cost reduction strategies.
Brother Benfield is a Georgia Gamma Phi, and 2012 graduate of the Stetson School of Business and Economics at Mercer University. He graduated with a bachelor of arts in economics and a bachelor of business administration with a concentration in Finance. While at Mercer, Mark completed another internship with the Charles G Koch Foundation, working in their Market-Based Management® training and professional development program.
