On June 15, 2015, Sampson Briggs suffered a severe accident while working at his summer job. He was removing an old 4×4 off a roof that had been glued down, and it broke free. He took one step back and fell over the edge. After falling 14 feet, he hit a metal bar on his neck and then proceeded to fall 16 more feet. He fell a total of 30 feet to the concrete, landing primarily on the left side of his face and head. His story is not often told because the chances of surviving a fall of this magnitude are very small. He tells his story to promote safety in hopes of saving just one person from experiencing a fall like he did.
Due to Sampson’s own experiences, Sampson has taken it upon himself to begin taking on speaking engagements to groups and organizations sharing his experience and promoting safety in the workplace as well as discussing faith. For more info on what Sampson is doing with his story, visit his website.
Sampson joined the Colorado Gamma Chapter at Colorado State University in the Fall of 2016.
