Trevor Guthrie has been elected to serve as the Student Body President at California State University, Chico for the 2019-2020 school year. Trevor will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Associated Students and as a Board member for the California State Student Association where he represents half a million students across all of the Cal State Universities. Trevor began his leadership as a freshman, serving as President of the Residence Hall Association. He has also served in the Student Senate and as Director of Legislative Affairs.
Trevor has lobbied at the California Capitol for financial aid reform and cal grant expansion. He also joined Phi Delta Theta in the lobbying efforts in Washington D.C. to protect students’ right to freedom of association. Trevor plans on opening a black student resource center on campus and fostering a culture of caring among the student body.
Trevor joined Phi Delt in Spring of 2017 where he found himself surrounded by a supportive group of brothers. The next spring he was elected to his first term as InterFraternity Council President and was re-elected for President the following year.
Trevor plans on working as a lobbyist once his education is done. He wants to eventually earn a Ph.D. because he loves learning and is passionate about political science. Trevor wants to advocate and raise awareness on social justice issues and lobby for a more equitable world.
