The J. Fred Green Award is awarded annually to the Phi Delta Theta Canadian Foundation’s top-ranked scholarship recipient.

Supporting Academic Success

The J. Fred Green Award is awarded annually to the Phi Delta Theta Canadian Foundation’s top-ranked scholarship recipient. The award was first granted in 1996 by the Canadian Foundation in recognition of Brother J. Fred Green’s (Toronto ‘30) long-standing contribution to the Canadian Fraternity.

Brother Green was initiated on November 15, 1926 at the Ontario Alpha Chapter at the University of Toronto. He was one of the founders of the Canadian Phi Delta Theta Scholarship Foundation in 1974, a chapter advisor, Toronto Alumni Club Secretary (1996-2004), province president (1989-1994) and was recognized by the General Fraternity in 1986 as a Legion of Merit recipient which was conferred at the General Convention in Toronto. Brother Green entered the Chapter Grand on January 30, 2004.

Since 1974, the Canadian Foundation has awarded over $400,000 to more than 400 undergraduates across Canada, all thanks to the generosity of Phi Delt alumni living in Canada.
